Dr BRC clinic Kanpur at a glance: who we are and who we are not [कानपुर में डॉ बीआरसी क्लिनिक: संक्षेप में]

Dr BRC clinic Kanpur is a search term for practitioners who follow Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury's published DIP diet, not for one hospital.[1] Lucknow Naturopathy delivers Dr. BRC protocol-based diet and lifestyle programmes in Kanpur, alongside your own doctor's care. We share the Kanpur address by phone or WhatsApp, because other websites show different ones.

What is Dr BRC Clinic in Kanpur?

The DIP diet was published by Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury (Dr BRC).[1] "Dr BRC Clinic in Kanpur" is not one hospital: his organisation lets practitioners apply to join a network of Clinic@Home clinics.[8]

When we read that network's directory on 12 October 2026, it had 8 Kanpur rows (6 Kanpur or Kanpur Nagar, 2 Kanpur Dehat). Each shows a name and a city, with no street address or phone number.[9] So no single row makes a practice "the" Dr BRC clinic of Kanpur, and we do not claim to be.

The founder and the diet

Who is Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, and what is the DIP diet? A short answer for Kanpur readers

Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury (Dr BRC) is the founder of the DIP diet, and his own website lists no medical degree. The site describes him as an engineer by education with a "post-graduation in Diabetes" and a "PhD (Hon.) in Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Diseases". It does not mention an MBBS.[2] The brand's own controversy page says critics point out that he holds no MBBS.[10]

Is Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury a medical doctor?

His own website lists no MBBS or other medical degree.[2] Whether he is a medical practitioner was left open by the Delhi High Court on 9 February 2023, which said the question is to be decided in trial.[11] The "(Hon.)" marks an honorary doctorate, a title given as an honour rather than earned through a course of study. His site names neither the body that gave it nor the one behind the "post-graduation".[2] What matters for your visit is the practitioner's qualification. Ask for their name and certificates before you pay.

What is the DIP diet? ("dip diet kya hai")

In short, the DIP diet is a named set of food rules from one brand. His site expands DIP as "Disciplined & Intelligent Person's Diet". The brand's drbrc.in page words the rules slightly differently.[3] The rules below are as published on biswaroop.com, read on 12 October 2026.

  • Eat only fruit in the morning, until 12 noon.[1]
  • At lunch and dinner, eat two plates: raw vegetables first, then home-cooked vegetarian food with very little salt and oil.[1]
  • Avoid milk products and other animal foods, and avoid packaged food.[1]

This describes the brand's rules. It is not advice or a diet chart for you. If you have type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, note that the brand's own DIP page warns that excess fruit may raise blood sugar in people with insulin resistance and lists them among those who should avoid the diet long term.[3] No trial has tested a fruit-only morning meal, so talk to your doctor before trying it. ICMR-NIN's national guidelines (2024) still list milk, eggs and meat as options, and advise at least 400 g of vegetables a day. The DIP pattern is therefore stricter than national guidance on animal foods.[12]

A diet is not the same as a clinic programme, so ask what a programme includes when you call +91 88742 06748. Our Lucknow page has the full DIP diet rules, variations and founder profile. See also what naturopathy is and is not and is naturopathy safe.

Kanpur's health picture

What does the NFHS-5 survey say about health in Kanpur Nagar compared with Uttar Pradesh and India?

In NFHS-5 (2019-21), Kanpur Nagar is above Uttar Pradesh on women's weight and waist, anaemia and men's tobacco use.[4],[5] It is close to or below the state on blood sugar (women 10.8% against 10.0%, men 8.3% against 11.6%) and on blood pressure.[4],[5] The survey interviewed 980 households, 1,150 women and 177 men in the district;[4] its fact sheet is set below beside the state and India figures.[5],[13]

The same district fact sheet also prints the NFHS-4 (2015-16) column. Overweight or obese women were 16.9% then and 25.2% in NFHS-5, anaemic children aged 6-59 months 73.6% then and 76.3% now, and anaemic women aged 15-49 58.7% then and 57.0% now.[4] The two rounds were separate surveys with different samples, so we claim no trend.

Where Kanpur Nagar is not worse: blood sugar and blood pressure

How to read these numbers

These are population numbers, not a diagnosis for you. If a signal sounds like you (waist, haemoglobin, blood sugar, blood pressure or tobacco), the next step is a test and advice from your own doctor. Lifestyle support such as diet counselling and daily yoga and movement is described on our Lucknow pages; ask what the Kanpur clinic offers. It sits alongside medical care, never in place of it.

The evidence in brief

What does the research say about diet and type 2 diabetes remission, and about the DIP diet itself?

Type 2 diabetes can go into remission in some people.[15] The best-known trial reached it with a medically supervised low-calorie programme, not a plant-based diet.[16] We could not find a published trial of the DIP diet itself, and the brand's own page says it has no large-scale clinical trials.[3]

Remission, in plain words

Remission means HbA1c (your average blood sugar over about three months) is below 6.5% (48 mmol/mol), measured at least 3 months after stopping glucose-lowering medicines.[15] Experts avoid the word "cure": remission can end, for example if weight returns, so check-ups of HbA1c, eyes, kidneys and feet continue.[15] Your doctor confirms it with a test; a diet plan cannot declare it.

What has been tested, and what has not

What the evidence covers
What was testedWhat it foundIs it our programme?
DiRECT: 306 UK adults aged 20-65 with a BMI of 27-45, diagnosed within the past 6 years and not on insulin, whose diabetes and blood pressure medicines were withdrawn by the trial team as they began a supervised low-calorie formula diet (825-853 kcal a day) for 3-5 months.[16]At 12 months, remission (the trial counted HbA1c below 6.5% after at least 2 months off all diabetes medicines) in 46% (68 of 149) of the intervention group against 4% (6 of 149) of the control group. Remission was more common in people who lost more weight.[16]No. It was medically supervised and used a formula diet, not a plant-based pattern.
Pooled trials of vegetarian-type dietsHbA1c about 0.29 percentage points lower in people with diabetes (9 trials, 664 people).[17] Blood pressure about 4.8/2.2 mmHg lower than on omnivorous diets (a separate analysis of 7 trials, 311 people, not limited to diabetes).[18]No. These were general vegetarian-style diets, and the effects were modest.
The DIP diet itselfThe brand's DIP page, read on 12 October 2026, says "no large-scale clinical trials but many anecdotal cases".[3] Our PubMed and Europe PMC searches on the same date found no trial of it.The closest match to the protocol our Kanpur programmes draw on, but untested.

Why weight comes up here: in DiRECT, remission was more common in people who lost more weight.[16] In Kanpur Nagar, 70.1% of women aged 15-49 had a high-risk waist-to-hip ratio of 0.85 or more, against 56.8% in Uttar Pradesh (NFHS-5, 2019-21).[4],[5] That is a body measurement, not a diabetes rate, and DiRECT was a supervised trial, so both are context, not a promise.

For depth, read how remission is defined and studied and what the DIP diet's cited studies are. Before changing any food or medicine, check with your treating doctor, see who should check first and our medical disclaimer.

take insulin, a sulfonylurea (glimepiride) or an SGLT2 inhibitor (dapagliflozin)Low sugar, especially with fasting or delayed meals (insulin, sulfonylureas).[21] Ketoacidosis (acid build-up) is listed on the drug label as a risk with SGLT2 inhibitors, and blood glucose can still be under 250 mg/dL (empagliflozin label).[22]Tell the doctor who prescribes it before you change meals or fast.
have type 1 diabetesMissed insulin can be life-threatening.[19]This approach is not for you. See your endocrinologist.

are pregnant, breastfeeding or a childThe published DIP rules leave out milk products and all animal foods.[3] ICMR-NIN says to include milk, eggs or meat, particularly for pregnant and lactating women, children and adolescents.[12]Ask your obstetrician or paediatrician.
have had an eating disorder, are underweight (BMI below 18.5, recorded for 13.8% of women aged 15-49 in Kanpur Nagar in NFHS-5)[4], or are frail or 65+This is our own caution, not a sourced rule.Ask your doctor before you start.

Anaemia and plant-only eating: a Kanpur caution

Anaemia means too little haemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen in blood. In NFHS-5 (2019-21), 57.0% of women aged 15-49 in Kanpur Nagar were anaemic, against 50.4% in Uttar Pradesh, as were 76.3% of children aged 6-59 months (haemoglobin below 11.0 g/dl).[4],[5] The brand's own DIP page lists several possible shortfalls on the diet, including B12, iron, zinc, calcium, vitamin D and protein. It also names anaemic people among those who should avoid the diet for extended periods.[3] A plant-only plan therefore needs a haemoglobin test, often with B12 and iron tests, and your doctor's advice first. Do not start or stop iron or B12 supplements on your own or on our advice; your doctor decides what you need after tests.

Summer heat, eating less and diabetes medicines

By actual maximum temperature, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) counts 45 degrees C or more as a heat wave on the plains and 47 degrees C or more as a severe one.[24] On 12 June 2024 All India Radio reported 47.5 degrees C as the highest maximum in Kanpur over the previous 24 hours.[25] The empagliflozin label lists reduced caloric intake and volume depletion among the precipitating conditions for ketoacidosis.[22] Our inference, not a sourced rule: if you take diabetes or blood pressure medicines, water tablets (diuretics) or an SGLT2 inhibitor, ask your doctor about fluids, salt and any fasting plan before the hot months, because eating less, sweating and a low-salt plan together can leave you dizzy or dehydrated.

The longer list is in the full who-should-not section. Before any change, tell us which medicines you take.

What support can and cannot do

What can lifestyle support mean for people in Kanpur living with diabetes, blood pressure, extra weight or anaemia?

Lifestyle support for people living with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, extra weight or anaemia means food, movement and habits beside your doctor's care, never instead of it. India's Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, 1954 lists diabetes, high or low blood pressure and obesity among its scheduled conditions. We do not claim to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any of them.[26]

What lifestyle support can and cannot do
ConditionLifestyle support can meanIt cannotWho leads your care
Type 2 diabetesIn nine pooled trials of people with diabetes, vegetarian-type diets were associated with an HbA1c (three-month sugar average) about 0.3 points lower; these were general vegetarian diets, not the DIP diet.[17] Yoga as an add-on to usual care was associated with about 0.6 points lower HbA1c, on low-certainty evidence.[27]Replace medicines or testsYour doctor
High blood pressure (in Kanpur Nagar, 17.3% of women 15+ had elevated readings or took medicine)[4]In seven small pooled trials, not limited to people with high blood pressure, vegetarian diets were associated with readings about 5/2 mmHg lower than omnivorous diets.[18] ICMR-NIN advises added salt of at most 5 g a day.[12]Replace blood pressure medicineYour doctor
Extra weight and waist (70.1% of women 15-49 had a high-risk waist-to-hip ratio, 0.85 or more)ICMR-NIN advises slow, steady weight loss and a minimum of 30-45 minutes of brisk activity for adults, and warns that extreme approaches may lead to health hazards.[12]Promise a number of kilosYour doctor
Anaemia (57.0% of women 15-49)Anaemia is defined by a haemoglobin level, so a test comes first.[4] Food advice can follow, depending on the cause your doctor finds. If you are anaemic, read who should check with their doctor first before changing your diet.Treat anaemia without a testYour doctor
Percentages are for women in Kanpur Nagar, NFHS-5 (2019-21).[4] Uttar Pradesh: elevated blood pressure or medicine 18.4%, high-risk waist-to-hip 56.8%, anaemia 50.4%.[5] Blood pressure is a survey reading, not a diagnosis.

In Kanpur Nagar, 46.8% of men aged 15+ use any kind of tobacco (Uttar Pradesh 44.1%).[4],[5] Only 177 men were interviewed in the district, so that figure has a wide margin of error. Quitting support is a medical conversation; lifestyle support sits beside it.

Food in practice

Eating in Kanpur: local ingredients, well-known foods and what the research supports

A Kanpur plate can stay familiar. Pulses (such as arhar and chana), millets (such as bajra) and vegetables are ordinary building blocks of the plate ICMR-NIN describes.[12],[28]

What does Kanpur Nagar grow, and how does it fit ICMR-NIN guidance?

Kanpur Nagar villages grow mainly rice and wheat, plus arhar, chana, bajra and vegetables such as tomato, potato, pumpkin, cabbage and chillies, according to an INTACH Clean Ganga documentation (April 2022). It is a village-survey statement, not a production table.[28]

ICMR-NIN (2024) advises combining cereals, pulses and millets, and at least 400 g of vegetables a day, with green leafy vegetables in every meal.[12] Pulses and vegetables can anchor a plant-forward plate, one where they fill most of the space. It does not mean vegan.

Kanpur's well-known foods: a portion-sense approach

Portion sense means choosing how much and how often, not banning a dish. The Ministry of Tourism lists gadbad chaat (fried potatoes, aloo tikki, papdi, sev bhalla), bhatura with chickpea curry, thaggu ke laddu (semolina and khoya) and Awadhi-style biryani among the foods of Kanpur.[29] We label no dish healthy or unhealthy. ICMR-NIN advises cutting down sugar, salt, excess refined oil and deep-fried foods, with sugar under 5% of energy for adults and added salt at most 5 g a day.[12]

What do Uttar Pradesh surveys show about eggs, meat and fried foods?

Uttar Pradesh figures, not Kanpur: NFHS-5 (2019-21), aged 15-49
Reported habitShare
Never eat eggs (women / men)40.4% / 26.2%
Never eat fish, chicken or meat (women / men)46.4% / 34.0%
Men eating fried foods daily / weekly10.5% / 34.5%
Men drinking aerated drinks daily / weekly3.2% / 17.5%
Self-reported; Table 77 of the state report.[14]

Many Uttar Pradesh adults report never eating eggs, or never eating fish, chicken or meat (table above), so a plate of dal, sabzi and roti is familiar to many. These are state-wide answers, not Kanpur ones. ICMR-NIN guidance still lists milk, eggs, fish and meat as options, particularly for pregnant and lactating women, children and adolescents.[12]

Four small changes that keep the local plate

  1. Add a pulse

Put arhar or chana dal in one more meal each day.

  2. Vegetables first

Eat the vegetables first at lunch and dinner.

  3. Occasions, not daily

Keep fried and sweet foods for special days.

  4. Keep moving

Aim for 30-45 minutes of brisk walking on days the air allows.[12]

If you live with diabetes, heart disease or kidney disease, are pregnant, or take regular medicines, ask your treating doctor before you change how you eat or how much you exercise, and never change a medicine because of a diet. Who should not follow the DIP diet without their doctor names the cases needing most care. For a plan fitted to your age and health, see the dietician page of the Lucknow centre, or find more questions answered.

How to check any Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur: directory, certificates and questions [कानपुर में किसी भी डॉ बीआरसी क्लिनिक की जाँच कैसे करें]

The Dr BRC directory has 8 rows with Kanpur in the city column, and none gives an address, phone number or qualification.[9] So to check whether a Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur is genuine, use documents, ours included.

What does the Dr BRC directory show for Kanpur?

Eight of the 901 Indian rows, read on 12 October 2026, have Kanpur in the city column, each giving only a name, city and state.[9]

The directory calls itself the "official Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury Clinic Directory" and says its clinics are "trained and authorized under Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury's health programs". That is its wording, not our claim.[9]

What the Dr BRC directory shows for Kanpur, read 12 October 2026

City spellings usedKanpur (4), Kanpur Nagar (2), Kanpur Dehat (1), Jhinjhak Kanpur Dehat (1)

Kanpur Nagar is the city district; Kanpur Dehat is a separate rural district. So 6 rows read as the city and 2 as Kanpur Dehat. Search "Kanpur" and read every spelling; "Cawnpore" and "कानपुर" return no rows.[9] We have not opened the "Click to View" files on four rows.[9]

The brand says CIM-course students and some other practitioners can apply to open a Clinic@Home, and "Once verified, your setup will be added to the Dr. BRC network".[8] We found no published inspection standard, so a listing is a name. A brand-run Kanpur page on drbrc.in has its own address, number and hours; we do not repeat them, as we cannot verify them for your centre. Our pages for Varanasi and Gorakhpur cover the same directory there.

What to ask for and which documents to see

  • Their full name, as spelt in the directory if they say they are listed.
  • Their qualification certificate, seen before you pay.
  • Whether the premises is registered under the Clinical Establishments Act (the Ministry of Health lists Uttar Pradesh among the States that have adopted it), and a copy of the certificate if so.[30]
  • A written fee estimate and receipt.
  • Your treating doctor's name, and a written line that only that doctor changes medicines.
  • Whether the one-time Rs 6,500 registration fee for the GRAD Patient App, which the brand's Clinic@Home terms describe, applies to you, and who receives it.[31]
  • Whether any product is sold.

Any centre, ours included, should be willing to show these. Ask us for the same.

Is Dr BRC clinic Kanpur genuine? Warning signs

  • Promises about your results.
  • The words "cure", "reverse" or "medicine-free".
  • Any hint to stop or cut medicines.
  • Pressure to pay today.
  • Testimonials that quote lab numbers.

Diabetes, high or low blood pressure, obesity and heart diseases are on the Schedule of the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, 1954. The Act bars advertisements that refer to a drug in terms suggesting it can be used for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of them.[26] Our Lucknow page has the longer list of phrases that should make you pause.

Emergencies and conventional care

When to see a doctor in Kanpur: emergency numbers, hospitals and red flags

Which numbers do I call in an emergency in Kanpur? [कानपुर में आपातकालीन नंबर]

In an emergency in Kanpur, call 112, the pan-India emergency number, or 108 for an ambulance. The list below is as printed on the Kanpur Nagar district health page when we read it on 12 October 2026. That page shows a last-updated date of 26 July 2018, so check each number before relying on it.[7]

  • 108: ambulance (the page says "anywhere").[7]
  • 102: ambulance for pregnant women.[7]
  • 112: the pan-India emergency number, which went live on 19 February 2019 in 16 States and Union Territories, Uttar Pradesh among them.[6]
  • 1800-180-1104: National Health Helpline, toll-free.[7]
  • 1800-180-5145: toll-free line for patients of government hospitals.[7]

Where is conventional care in Kanpur?

Conventional care in Kanpur includes the District Hospital, which the Chief Medical Officer heads, and the other hospitals on the district's public-utilities list (three are in the table below). The district pages give almost no services and no timings; one private hospital is described as a neuro and spine centre. Confirm with the hospital before travelling for anything that is not urgent.[32][7]

In a medical emergency, go to the nearest hospital emergency department. Carry your medicine list and tell the staff about any insulin or diabetes tablets you take.

Red flags: see a doctor straight away if

  • You have signs of low blood sugar (shaking, sweating, confusion) that do not clear within 15 minutes of fast-acting sugar, you are confused or cannot swallow, your reading is below 54 mg/dL (3.0 mmol/L), or you need someone's help. If you can swallow safely, take fast-acting sugar as your doctor has advised, and call 108 or 112 if you cannot.[21]
  • You take an SGLT2 inhibitor (a diabetes tablet), are eating less, and have nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or trouble breathing. Ketones may be building up in the blood (ketoacidosis), even when your sugar reading does not look very high.[22]
  • You have type 1 diabetes and have missed insulin, especially if you also have nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or trouble breathing.[19][22]
  • You have chest pain, fainting, sudden weakness of the face, arm or leg, trouble speaking or sudden loss of vision.
  • You are pregnant and have bleeding, a severe headache, reduced baby movements, or vomiting that stops you eating or drinking.

For severe symptoms, call 108 or 112 first. See the full red-flag lists and our medical disclaimer. Before any programme, tell us which medicines you take.

What does that mean for a morning walk or outdoor yoga?

On a Poor day, walk or do yoga indoors. ICMR-NIN (2024) advises adults at least 30-45 minutes of brisk walking or moderate-intensity activity, and says regular yoga and physical activity are essential.[12] We run yoga classes at our Lucknow centre; to ask what the Kanpur programmes include, contact us.

How hot is too hot?

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) considers a heat wave only when a plains station reaches at least 40 degrees C. By actual maximum, 45 degrees C or more is a heat wave and 47 degrees C or more a severe one. IMD also uses departures from normal.[24]

For Kanpur, All India Radio reported that the highest maximum in the 24 hours to 12 June 2024 was 47.5 degrees C. That is one day, not a typical one.[25]

In a heat wave, walk early in the morning or stay indoors through the afternoon, and carry water unless your doctor has limited your fluids (for example in heart or kidney failure). If you take medicines that affect body fluids, such as diuretics (water tablets), ask your doctor how much to drink; see who should check with their doctor first.

Planning your visit

Getting to a Kanpur clinic visit: stations, buses, flights, metro and the road from Lucknow

Kanpur sits on the south bank of the Ganga, about 80 km west of Lucknow, the state capital.[35] We give the Kanpur clinic address when you call or WhatsApp. This section lists the public transport facts we could source, with their dates, and points to our Lucknow centre if that is easier for you.

Which stations, bus depots and airport serve Kanpur?

The Kanpur Nagar district portal lists four railway stations: Kanpur Central (CNB), Panki (PNK), Kanpur Anwarganj (CPA) and Kalianpur (KAP). It also lists four bus depots and Kanpur Airport (KNU).[36]

The Airports Authority of India describes the airport as a civil enclave (a civilian area) at the Chakeri joint-user airfield (one shared by civil and military flights); its page was last updated on 12 February 2020.[37] The district portal names Lucknow's Amausi as the nearest international airport, approximately 65 km away; the page is stamped "Last Updated: 26.07.2018", so check current distances and routes before you travel.[35] Confirm current flights with the airline before you book.

On metro, a report of 28 June 2026 said passenger service ran on a 15 km, 14-station section from IIT Kanpur to Kanpur Central. The same report said the Kanpur Central to Naubasta stretch was not yet open, with a safety inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety just starting.[38] Check the current status before you rely on it.

Kanpur to Lucknow: the road and the rail link

Regular trains connect Kanpur with Lucknow, according to the district portal.[35] By road, a news report of 14 July 2026 said the 63 km Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway (National Expressway-6) was added to traffic on Monday 13 July 2026.[39] Reports after that may differ, so check the current road status and any toll before you set out.

If you would rather visit the Lucknow centre

Our Lucknow head centre is at 123, Wellness Lane, Virat Khand 2, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226010. Read our Lucknow centre page and what the Lucknow centre has before you decide. Whichever city you choose, ask which programme runs where.

  • Check the live air quality index and the heat forecast for the day.
  • Check the train timetable or road status before you leave.

We do not publish a Kanpur street address on this page, so it cannot give directions or distances to the clinic. When you confirm the address by phone, ask the person how to reach it from your station, bus depot or home.

Fees and costs

Dr BRC clinic Kanpur fees: what is published, what is not, and what to ask

This page does not state the Kanpur clinic's fees. It does show the three prices Dr. BRC's own organisation publishes, dated 12 October 2026, and the questions that turn any quote into an estimate you can compare.[20],[31]

What does the Kanpur clinic charge?

The Kanpur clinic's fees are not published on this page, and we will not guess them. Call +91 88742 06748 or WhatsApp +91 88742 06748 for the current fee list. Ask for it in writing, with a total for the programme you are considering. Lucknow rates are set for the Lucknow centre, so ask whether they apply to a Kanpur programme.

Our Lucknow centre lists its own rates in the Lucknow fees section and on the full pricing page.

What does Dr. BRC's organisation publish?

Prices published by Dr. BRC's organisation, read 12 October 2026
ItemPublished priceSource
Virtual OPD (online consultation)Rs 25,000 including taxes, non-refundable[20]biswaroop.com
Premium Virtual OPDRs 70,000 including taxes, non-refundable[20]biswaroop.com
Clinic@Home patient registrationRs 6,500, one time, non-refundable[31]drbrc.in terms
The terms say the registration fee covers the GRAD Patient App, a circadian chart, one month of virtual monitoring and one year of expert guidance, and that therapies taken at a physical clinic may be charged separately.[31] We found no published in-person clinic fees on the pages we read. These are the organisation's prices, not ours, and may change.

Questions to ask before you pay

Put these questions to every clinic you consider, so each estimate covers the same things.

  • Can I have an itemised written estimate, and what is left out of it?
  • How many visits does it cover, and for how long?
  • Is the Rs 6,500 Clinic@Home registration charged here, and who receives it?
  • What are the refund and cancellation terms, in writing?
  • Is any product or supplement sold, and is buying it optional?
  • Will I get a receipt for every payment?

Pause and ask again if a fee changes after you were given the first figure. Treat "free consultation" offers and countdown timers as a reason to slow down. Identity checks are in how to check any Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur. For reimbursement, ask your insurer; see our insurance information.

Trust and transparency

Reviews, claims and results: how to judge a Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur, and the public record in brief

Judge any clinic by facts you can check. This page carries no testimonials or results, and a review is one weak signal, never proof.

Why this page has no testimonials or before-and-after results

Outcomes differ from person to person, so this page carries no testimonials, star ratings, patient stories or before-and-after numbers. A story implies a typical result.

Reading reviews of a Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur

  • "Dr BRC clinic Kanpur" pages and listings appear on several websites. The brand's own directory had 8 rows with a Kanpur city entry on 12 October 2026,[9] so a review of one listing says nothing about another.
  • Match the name, address and phone in a review to the clinic you plan to visit, and check the date.
  • Treat reviews that quote blood-test numbers, stopped medicines or cures as a warning sign. Only your treating doctor changes your medicines.

The public record in brief

For the full timeline, read the full dated public record. Our medical disclaimer sets out what we do not claim. If a claim about any clinic worries you, show it to your own doctor first.

Before you book

Next steps: questions to ask before you decide

If you are weighing a Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur, three questions matter most. Ask them of any clinic before you pay, and note the answers.

  • Who will see me, and what qualification do they hold? Ask for their name and certificates.
  • What will it cost in total, in writing, before I pay?
  • How will my own doctor stay in the picture, and what do I tell them?

Ask us directly

We cannot promise any outcome. Never change a medicine without asking your treating doctor.

Dr BRC Clinic in Kanpur: address, contact and verification

Is there a Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur?
Lucknow Naturopathy delivers Dr. BRC protocol-based diet and lifestyle programmes in Kanpur, but "a Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur" is not one single hospital. The brand's own clinic directory had 8 Kanpur rows out of 901 Indian rows when we read it on 12 October 2026: 6 for Kanpur or Kanpur Nagar and 2 for Kanpur Dehat.[9] Each row shows a name, city and state, with no street address or phone number, so a single row cannot make anyone "the" Dr BRC clinic of Kanpur, and we do not claim to be. We give the Kanpur clinic address by phone or WhatsApp. You can reach us on +91 88742 06748. Our checklist for verifying any clinic shows what to ask before you pay.
Dr BRC clinic Kanpur ka address kya hai, aur clinic Kanpur mein kahan hai?
This page does not print a street address. The address is given by phone or WhatsApp on +91 88742 06748. Address ke liye call ya WhatsApp karein. Other websites show different Kanpur addresses and numbers, so confirm the address by phone before you travel. Ask for the practitioner's name and qualification certificates before you pay.
What is the phone or WhatsApp number for Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur?
Call +91 88742 06748 or message +91 88742 06748 on WhatsApp and ask for the Kanpur clinic. You can also email dr@naturopathlucknow.in. Please do not use numbers copied from other websites, because we cannot tell you who answers them. When someone replies, ask for the practitioner's name and qualification certificates before you pay, as you would at any clinic. Keep your own doctor informed, and have your medicine list and recent reports ready for the call.
What are the timings of Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur, and is it open on Sunday?
Kanpur clinic timings: Call or WhatsApp to confirm current timings. Sunday opening is not confirmed on this page, so please ask when you call +91 88742 06748. Hours shown for a "Dr BRC clinic" on other websites may belong to a different centre, so do not assume they apply to the one you will visit. Ask on the call whether you need an appointment before you travel. We are not an emergency service. In an emergency call 112[6] or 108 (ambulance).[7]
Why do other websites show a different address and phone number for Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur?
Some websites that use the Dr BRC name, and some directories, publish their own city pages with their own addresses and numbers. The brand's clinic directory is different: it lists names, cities and states only, with no addresses or phone numbers.[9] We cannot verify those other details for the centre you will call, so we do not repeat them here. Before you travel, confirm the address by phone, ask who will see you, and compare the answers with our how-to-check list. If two listings give different numbers, treat that as a reason to ask more questions.
Is Dr BRC clinic Kanpur genuine, and how can I check?
We do not give a verdict on any clinic, ours included. We give you checks to run before you pay. Ask for the practitioner's name and qualification certificate. Ask whether the premises is registered under the Clinical Establishments Act, a central law that the Ministry of Health lists Uttar Pradesh as having adopted, and ask to see the certificate.[30] Get a written fee estimate and a receipt. Confirm that your own treating doctor stays in charge of your medicines. Be wary of any promise of cure or any advice to stop medicines. A directory row shows a name, city and state only, so it is a starting point, not an inspection.[9] The same checks apply to our Kanpur programmes. See the full checklist.
How many Dr BRC clinics does the directory list in Kanpur?
Eight rows out of 901 Indian rows have Kanpur in the city column. We read the directory on 12 October 2026: 4 rows are spelt Kanpur, 2 Kanpur Nagar, 1 Kanpur Dehat and 1 Jhinjhak Kanpur Dehat.[9] Kanpur Dehat is a separate district, so 6 rows cover Kanpur and Kanpur Nagar. Rows show a name, city and state only, with no street address or phone number, and a search for "Cawnpore" or the Devanagari spelling returned no rows.[9] The directory is the brand's own list, not an inspection, and counts change, so check it yourself. We name no one from it.
Who will I see at the Kanpur clinic, and can I check their qualifications?
This page does not name the Kanpur practitioner, so ask for the name when you call and for the qualification certificate (diploma or degree, issuing body and year) before you pay. Our programmes are delivered by naturopathy and yoga practitioners, not MBBS or MD physicians, and your own doctor continues to manage your medicines. Check that the name on the certificate matches the name you were given. A directory row does not show qualifications, so a listing alone cannot answer this.[9] If anything stays unclear, pause and ask again, or start from our contact page.
Does Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury see patients in Kanpur?
This page does not say that he sees patients in Kanpur, and we do not offer or promise a consultation with him. Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury developed the DIP Diet, and his own website describes his doctorate as a PhD (Hon.), meaning honorary.[2] The brand says that practitioners apply to join its network and, once verified, are added to it.[8] If anyone tells you he will personally see you, ask for that in writing, and run the checks in our how-to-check section first.

Kanpur: health survey, food, air, heat and travel

What does NFHS-5 say about blood sugar and blood pressure in Kanpur?
In NFHS-5 (2019-21), Kanpur Nagar's readings were close to or below Uttar Pradesh's (UP). Women's blood sugar was 0.8 points higher, which our table treats as close. [4],[5] Among women aged 15 and over, 10.8% had a high random blood sugar reading or took blood sugar medicine (UP 10.0%, India 13.5%). For men it was 8.3% (UP 11.6%, India 15.6%). [4],[5],[13] Elevated blood pressure or blood pressure medicine: women 17.3% (UP 18.4%), men 16.2% (UP 21.7%). [4],[5] These come from readings taken at the time of the survey (blood sugar was a random, non-fasting test), so they are not diabetes or hypertension rates, and only 177 men were interviewed. [4] The district data section has the full table.
Are women in Kanpur Nagar more overweight than in the rest of Uttar Pradesh?
Higher than the Uttar Pradesh figure, on this survey. In NFHS-5 (2019-21), 25.2% of women aged 15-49 in Kanpur Nagar were overweight or obese (a BMI of 25 or more), against 21.3% in Uttar Pradesh and 24.0% in India. [4],[5],[13] A high-risk waist-to-hip ratio (waist divided by hip measurement, 0.85 or more) was recorded for 70.1% of the district's women, against 56.8% in UP. [4],[5] These are survey estimates from a district sample, with no confidence intervals shown on the fact sheet, and are not a diagnosis for any one person. [4] Ask your doctor what your own weight and waist mean. Our programmes are lifestyle support alongside medical care, never instead of it.
Is anaemia common in Kanpur, and is a plant-only diet safe if I am anaemic?
Anaemia is common in the survey, and a plant-only plan should not be started without a haemoglobin test and your doctor's advice. In NFHS-5 (2019-21), 57.0% of women aged 15-49 and 76.3% of children aged 6-59 months in Kanpur Nagar had a low haemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein in blood) reading, against 50.4% and 66.4% in Uttar Pradesh. [4],[5] The DIP diet page on drbrc.in lists B12, iron and zinc shortfalls to watch, and names anaemic people among those who should avoid the diet long term. [3] We give no iron or B12 doses here. Your doctor decides what you need.
What can I eat in Kanpur if I want to eat more plant-forward?
Pulses, vegetables and grains that already grow around Kanpur Nagar are a practical base for a plant-forward plate. The INTACH district documentation (April 2022) lists arhar (pigeon pea), chana (chickpea), bajra (pearl millet), tomato, potato, pumpkin and cabbage among local crops. [28] ICMR-NIN advises at least 400 g of vegetables a day, and its guide still lists eggs and flesh foods among food groups, so plant-forward need not mean plant-only. [12] Kanpur's well-known street foods and sweets include deep-fried and khoya-based dishes. [29] ICMR-NIN advises cutting down on deep-fried foods and sugar, so keep them for occasions. [12] Ask your doctor first if you have diabetes or kidney disease, or are pregnant.
Is it safe to walk or do yoga outdoors in Kanpur?
It depends on the day's air quality, so check the live CPCB air quality index (AQI) before you go out, and move indoors when it reads Poor (201-300) or worse. [34] On CPCB's scale Poor (201-300) is the fourth of six categories, so we suggest a gentler indoor session on a Poor day. [34] In Uttar Pradesh's report to the National Green Tribunal, which lists Kanpur among 14 non-attainment cities, 18 of 152 observed days between 1 November 2023 and 31 March 2024 had an AQI above 200 in Kanpur. [33] The same report gives Kanpur's average PM10 (fine dust particles) as 227 micrograms per cubic metre in financial year 2017-18 and 143 in 2022-23, and its IIT Kanpur source study named road dust as the largest source of PM10, at 81.9%. [33] Keep away from busy, dusty roads. See air quality and heat.
How hot is too hot to walk in Kanpur?
There is no single safe temperature, but in hot spells walk early in the morning or do your session indoors. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) considers a heat wave only once a plains station reaches at least 40 degrees C. In the plains it declares one when the maximum is at least 40 degrees C and 4.5 degrees C or more above normal, or is 45 degrees C or higher. This must hold at two or more stations in a meteorological sub-division for at least two consecutive days. [24] An All India Radio report of 12 June 2024 gave 47.5 degrees C as the highest maximum recorded in Kanpur in the previous 24 hours. [25] ICMR-NIN advises adults a minimum of 30-45 minutes of moderate-intensity activity such as brisk walking; the guide does not fix a time or place, so you can choose both. [12] If you take diabetes or blood pressure medicines, ask your doctor about fluids first. That caution is our inference, not an official heat rule; the reasoning is in the safety section.
How far is Kanpur from the Lucknow centre, and how do I get there?
The Kanpur Nagar district portal places Kanpur 80 km west of Lucknow. That is the distance to the city, not to the centre's door. [35] Kanpur Central (CNB) is one of four railway stations its how-to-reach page lists. [36] Its about-district page says there are regular trains to Lucknow. [35] A news report of 14 July 2026 said the 63 km Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway had opened to traffic. Check its current status and tolls before you travel. [39] The portal also says Lucknow's Amausi airport is about 65 km from Kanpur. [35] Our Lucknow centre is at 123, Wellness Lane, Virat Khand 2, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226010. Call or WhatsApp us on +91 88742 06748 before you set out.
Which hospital and which numbers should I use in a medical emergency in Kanpur?
In an emergency call 112 or 108 (ambulance) and go to the nearest hospital emergency department. We are not an emergency service. The Kanpur Nagar health page, last updated 26 July 2018, lists 108 for an ambulance, 102 for pregnant women, and the toll-free numbers 1800-180-1104 (National Health Helpline) and 1800-180-5145 (for government hospital patients), so confirm them before relying on them. [7] The district's hospital list includes LLR (Hallet), KPM and UHM (labelled Govt) hospitals, and gives almost no services for them. [32] We do not recommend or rank hospitals. Tell the staff which diabetes and blood pressure medicines you take. See emergency numbers and care.
Should I tell my Kanpur doctor before I start a Dr BRC protocol?
Yes. Show your doctor the plan and your medicine list before you change how you eat or fast, and keep your usual check-ups. Only your treating doctor should change a medicine; we never advise stopping or reducing one. Ask in particular about insulin, sulfonylureas and SGLT2 inhibitors, and about kidney disease, pregnancy or anaemia. People with type 1 diabetes need insulin for life, even if their dose changes or someone tells them the need has gone. [19] Share what any programme advises, ours included.

Fees, visits and booking from Kanpur

What are the fees at Dr BRC clinic in Kanpur?
We have not published a fee for the Kanpur clinic, so please call or WhatsApp +91 88742 06748 and ask for the current fee list in writing. Dr. BRC's organisation publishes only some prices. On 12 October 2026 its site listed Virtual OPD (its online consultation) at Rs 25,000 and Premium Virtual OPD at Rs 70,000, both inclusive of taxes and non-refundable once paid,[20] plus a one-time Clinic@Home registration of Rs 6,500.[31] Those are the organisation's own prices, not ours, and we found no in-person clinic fees on the pages we read. Prices can change. Our Lucknow centre lists its own rates on the pricing page; ask whether they apply to a Kanpur programme.
Do I have to pay the Rs 6,500 Clinic@Home registration fee?
We have not confirmed that this fee applies to our Kanpur programmes, so ask before you pay anything. The Dr BRC Clinic@Home terms, read on 12 October 2026, describe a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of Rs 6,500 for the GRAD Patient App. According to those terms it comes with a circadian chart, one month of virtual monitoring with an emergency line, and one year of guidance from an expert, while therapies taken at a physical clinic may be charged separately.[31] Before paying, ask who receives the money, exactly what it includes, whether it is refundable and whether you will get a written receipt.
Can I consult online from Kanpur?
We have not confirmed that the Kanpur clinic offers online consultations, so please ask when you call or WhatsApp +91 88742 06748. The Virtual OPD priced in the first answer above is run by Dr. BRC's organisation, not by us. If any online consultation is offered, ask who will consult and ask to see their qualification certificate. Also ask what the fee covers and how your records are kept. A video call cannot change your medicines; only your treating doctor can do that. If you prefer to meet in person, Kanpur is 80 km west of Lucknow, according to the district portal.[35] You can contact our Lucknow centre to confirm which programme runs where before you travel.
What should I bring to a first visit?
Bring a list of your medicines with doses and timings, including insulin if you use it, your latest reports, and your doctor's name and phone number. Useful reports include HbA1c (your average blood sugar over about three months), haemoglobin, kidney tests and recent blood pressure readings. Add a note of any allergies and of anything you already follow, such as fasting or supplements. Write down your questions about fees and ask for the answers in writing. Ask the practitioner's name and qualification certificate before you pay, as you would at any clinic. If you are unsure what to carry, call +91 88742 06748 first and ask.

The DIP diet, evidence and safety

What is the DIP diet, and what does "dip diet kya hai" mean?
The DIP diet is a plant-based eating plan published by Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury. His site expands DIP as "Disciplined & Intelligent Person's Diet".[1] "Dip diet kya hai" is Hinglish for "what is the DIP diet?". The rules, as he publishes them, are in the short answer above: fruit only until noon, two plates at lunch and dinner, and no milk products, other animal foods or packaged food.[1] This describes his rules and is not advice for you: ICMR-NIN's Dietary Guidelines for Indians (2024) still list milk, eggs and meat for some groups.[12] Rules read on 12 October 2026. For the full rules, see the DIP diet explained.
Is the DIP diet scientifically proven?
No. We could not find a published trial of the DIP diet itself. The brand's own DIP page says results come with "no large-scale clinical trials but many anecdotal cases".[3] Our PubMed and Europe PMC searches on 12 October 2026 found none of the studies his site lists. What does exist is research on other approaches. The DiRECT trial tested supervised weight loss.[16] A pooled analysis of nine trials of vegetarian diets in diabetes found HbA1c (a blood test of long-term sugar control) about 0.3 percentage points lower on average.[17] That is context about food and blood sugar, not evidence for this protocol. If anyone calls the DIP diet "proven", ask for the trial reference.
Can type 2 diabetes go into remission with diet, and can the DIP diet do that?
For some people early in type 2 diabetes, remission has followed substantial weight loss.[15] Whether the DIP diet can do this has not been shown. Remission means an HbA1c below 6.5% at least 3 months after stopping glucose-lowering medicines. It is not a cure.[15] In the DiRECT trial, 46% of the supervised group were in remission at 12 months, against 4% of the comparison group.[16] DiRECT used a medically supervised formula diet, not a plant-based one. Its adults were aged 20-65, diagnosed within the previous 6 years and not on insulin.[16] It does not describe our programmes, and we promise no remission. Medicine decisions stay with your treating doctor.
Can I stop or reduce insulin or diabetes tablets on the DIP diet?
No. Never stop or reduce insulin or diabetes tablets because of a diet. Only your treating doctor changes medicines. Insulin and sulfonylureas (a tablet class that includes glimepiride) can push blood sugar too low, especially with fasting or delayed meals.[21] SGLT2 inhibitors (such as empagliflozin) carry a different risk. The US label for empagliflozin lists eating less as a trigger for ketoacidosis, a dangerous build-up of ketones. It says blood glucose can be below 250 mg/dL even then, so a reassuring reading does not rule it out.[22] In type 1 diabetes, missed insulin can be life-threatening.[19] Show your doctor, and us, your full medicine list before you change how you eat. If you eat much less or lose weight, your doctor may need to review your doses to avoid low blood sugar, so tell them before you start, not afterwards. In an emergency call 112 or 108 (ambulance).
Is the DIP diet safe for type 1 diabetes, kidney disease, pregnancy, children or older adults?
Not on your own. In type 1 diabetes no diet can replace insulin.[19] With diabetes and kidney disease, the KDIGO 2022 diabetes-in-CKD guideline suggests an individualised diet with protein and sodium targets (for example, under 2 g of sodium a day, which is under 5 g of sodium chloride) and the involvement of a registered dietitian or other accredited nutrition provider.[23] Protein targets differ between people on dialysis and those not on dialysis, and the diet should be individualised, so you need your kidney doctor's plan.[23] Fruit-heavy plans are also rich in potassium, which matters in advanced kidney disease (our inference, so ask your doctor). For pregnancy, breastfeeding and childhood, ICMR-NIN advises foods of animal origin such as milk, eggs and meat.[12] The brand's own DIP page lists people with higher B12, iron or zinc needs (it gives elderly, pregnant and anaemic people as examples), people with low blood pressure and people with insulin resistance (common in type 2 diabetes and prediabetes) among those who should avoid it long term.[3] Anaemia is common locally: NFHS-5 (2019-21) found 57.0% of women aged 15-49 in Kanpur Nagar anaemic, against 50.4% in Uttar Pradesh.[4][5] Ask for a haemoglobin test before changing your diet.
Is Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury a medical doctor?
His own site names no MBBS. It says he is an engineer by education, with a post-graduation in diabetes and a PhD (Hon.) in diabetes and chronic kidney diseases, and, on the page we read, names no awarding body for either.[2] The brand's own controversy page says critics point out he does not hold an MBBS.[10] Our practitioners are naturopathy and yoga practitioners, not MBBS or MD doctors. At any clinic, ask for the practitioner's name and qualification certificates (issuing body and year) before you pay.
