Dr BRC Clinic in Gorakhpur at a glance: what we can tell you and what to confirm [गोरखपुर में डॉ बीआरसी क्लिनिक: संक्षेप में]

Dr BRC clinic Gorakhpur is not the name of one hospital. The brand's own clinic directory (biswaroop.com) listed five Gorakhpur entries on 12 October 2026, with names but no street addresses.[1] Lucknow Naturopathy delivers Dr. BRC protocol-based diet and lifestyle programmes in Gorakhpur, alongside your own doctor, never instead of one. We confirm the address by phone.

What is Dr BRC Clinic in Gorakhpur?

In the brand's own directory, a Dr BRC clinic is a practitioner-run Clinic@Home listing, not a single hospital. The brand says practitioners apply through a form and, once verified, are added to its network.[6] We found no published account of what that check involves.

When we read it on 12 October 2026, the brand's city-page site, drbrc.in, showed no Gorakhpur address card, and its Gorakhpur page said "This page could not be found".[7] That is why we confirm details by phone, and why you should check any clinic yourself. To visit our Lucknow centre instead, see getting to Gorakhpur and the Lucknow centre.

Is Dr BRC the same as BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur?

No. BRC are the initials of Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury. BRD Medical College is Baba Raghav Das Medical College, whose Nehru Hospital describes itself as a tertiary care centre.[8] We have no connection with it. Anyone searching "Dr BRC hospital Gorakhpur" may be looking for BRD: when we searched "Dr BRC Gorakhpur" in October 2026, the results were mostly BRD news.

When to see a doctor in Gorakhpur: hospitals, emergency numbers and red flags [गोरखपुर में जाँच और आपातकालीन सेवाएँ: कहाँ जाएँ]

The numbers and hospital details below come only from official pages we read on 12 October 2026. This is a map of public options, not a ranking or a recommendation, and we are not an emergency service.

Which emergency numbers does the Gorakhpur district portal list?

  • The portal's "Helpline Contacts" list, with a page footer dated 12 October 2026, gives ambulance 102 and 108, Child Helpline 1098, Women Helpline 1090 and Crime Stopper 100.[4]
  • UP Police's UP112 presentation (PDF, June 2024) has a slide on joining UP112 with the 108 ambulance service, and its event counts include "Medical" events.[5]

These are options on official lists. Your own doctor's advice, the distance and how urgent it is decide where you go. If you take diabetes medicines, ask the doctor who prescribes them before you change how you eat; our Lucknow safety section explains why.

Red flags: get urgent care, do not wait for an appointment with us

  • Chest pain or pressure, or breathlessness at rest.
  • Face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech, fainting, confusion or a fit.
  • Shaking, sweating, sudden confusion or a sugar reading below 70 mg/dL while on insulin or a sulfonylurea (a diabetes tablet). These medicines mainly carry the risk of low blood sugar. If you are awake and can swallow, take fast-acting sugar (glucose tablets, a sugary drink or sweets) straight away and recheck; never put food or drink in the mouth of someone who is drowsy or unconscious.[12]
  • Nausea, repeated vomiting, stomach pain, fast breathing, unusual tiredness or drowsiness while on an SGLT2 inhibitor (another diabetes tablet), even if the sugar reading is under 250 mg/dL. These can be signs of ketoacidosis, a dangerous build-up of acids in the blood, and the US prescribing information lists reduced calorie intake among its triggers.[13]
  • Very high sugar readings with great thirst, passing a lot of urine, vomiting, fast breathing or drowsiness, especially if insulin has been missed, reduced or stopped. In type 1 diabetes even a few missed insulin doses can cause life-threatening ketoacidosis.[14]
  • Dizziness or fainting, especially in summer heat, if you take an SGLT2 inhibitor or a water tablet (diuretic): the US empagliflozin label says these can add to fluid loss (volume depletion) and lower blood pressure.[13]
  • Heavy bleeding or severe pain in pregnancy.
  • Black or bloody stools.

For any of these, call 112 or an ambulance. If you have vomiting, diarrhoea or fever and cannot eat or drink normally while on diabetes or blood-pressure tablets, call your own doctor the same day; do not stop or change tablets by yourself. Tell the staff about any recent diet change and which medicines you take. The Lucknow page has a longer red-flags list. For non-urgent questions, ask us or read our medical disclaimer.

Gorakhpur district data

What does the NFHS-5 survey say about health in Gorakhpur district compared with Uttar Pradesh and India?

In the NFHS-5 Gorakhpur district sheet, women's high random blood sugar readings and waist-to-hip ratio are higher than in Uttar Pradesh, while raised blood pressure is lower. NFHS-5 (2019-21) is the national household health survey run by the International Institute for Population Sciences and the Health Ministry. The Gorakhpur sheet, itself labelled 2020-21, draws on 958 households, 1,360 women and 135 men.[2],[15] These are survey estimates, not a medical record.

Each row is the share of that group in the survey, so read across a row to see whether the district sits above or below the state and the country.[2],[3],[15]

Gorakhpur sample: 958 households, 1,360 women, 135 men, so men's district figures are rough. Blood sugar is a single random finger-prick reading, and the sugar and blood-pressure rows also count people taking medicine for the condition, so none of these rows is a diagnosis. The district and state sheets are labelled NFHS-5 (2020-21), India 2019-21; Uttar Pradesh fieldwork ran 13 January to 21 March 2020 and 28 November 2020 to 19 April 2021.[2],[3],[15]

Women's share (13.8%) is above Uttar Pradesh (10.0%) and close to India (13.5%).[2],[3],[15] District sheets show no margin of error, so a gap of a few points may partly be chance. For men it is about 12%, level with Uttar Pradesh and below India (16%).[2],[3],[15]

A random blood glucose measurement is a single reading taken at whatever time of day the survey team visited, not a fasting test and not the HbA1c lab test.[2],[16] It is not a diabetes diagnosis, so the figure does not mean 13.8% of Gorakhpur women have diabetes. Waist-to-hip ratio is waist divided by hip; the survey counts 0.85 or more in women as high risk.[2]

Where Gorakhpur is lower or level, and what the survey cannot tell you

Raised blood pressure was less common: 16.8% of women against 18.4% in Uttar Pradesh and 21.3% in India, and about 21% of men against 22% and 24%.[2],[3],[15] Women's overweight or obesity (21.1%) is about the Uttar Pradesh level and below India (24.0%).[2],[3],[15] Our own reading of the state report's district table puts Gorakhpur about 31st highest of 75 districts for women's overweight and 30th highest for women's anaemia, so mid-table.[16]

The sheet gives no earlier-round sugar or blood pressure figures, so no trend can be drawn.[2] It has no HbA1c results, no district food-intake data (state-wide eating is in the local food section) and nothing about any clinic.

Tobacco, cooking fuel and anaemia in Gorakhpur

About 45% of men used some tobacco, level with Uttar Pradesh (44%) and above India (38%); for women it was 5.4% against 8.4% in Uttar Pradesh.[2],[3],[15] Clean cooking fuel reached 66.8% of households, up from 39.7% in NFHS-4, against 49.5% in Uttar Pradesh and 58.6% in India.[2],[3],[15]

Here anaemia means low haemoglobin: below 12.0 g/dL in women (11.0 in pregnancy) and 11.0 in children.[2] It affected 52.9% of women (53.4% of non-pregnant women) against 50.4% in Uttar Pradesh and 57.0% in India, and 67.4% of children against 66.4% and 67.1%.[2],[3],[15] If your haemoglobin is low, a plant-only plan needs a doctor's view first; the safety section explains why.

These figures describe the district, not you. If a number sounds like you, the next step is a test and advice from your own doctor, such as at a public institution in the care map. Constant thirst, passing a lot of urine, unexplained weight loss, blurred vision or wounds that heal slowly are reasons to get your blood sugar tested soon. Lifestyle programmes, ours included, support medical care and make no claim to change these numbers. See what this page is and is not and what the evidence says about naturopathy safety.

How to check any Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur: the directory, certificates and questions to ask [गोरखपुर में किसी भी डॉ बीआरसी क्लिनिक की जाँच कैसे करें]

To judge whether a Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur is genuine, check the practitioner, not the brand name. Ask for their certificates, the exact name they are listed under and a written fee. The brand's own directory is only a starting point: for Gorakhpur it holds five rows with names and no addresses.[1]

What does the Dr. BRC clinic directory show for Gorakhpur?

The brand's clinic directory, read on 12 October 2026, has 901 numbered India rows. Five give Gorakhpur as the city, all in Uttar Pradesh. Each row shows a name, city and state. None shows a street address, phone number or opening hours, so the directory tells you who is listed, not where they see patients.[1]

Gorakhpur rows of 901, read 12 Oct 2026[1]
5
addresses or phones in any row[1]
0

Anyone can repeat our count. Every "Click to Visit" link opens the same generic form, and three of the five rows also link to a file we did not open. The page says listed clinics are "trained and authorized under Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury's health programs"; we found no definition of that phrase on it.[1]

What can the directory not tell you?

It cannot tell you where a listed practitioner sees patients, what they charge, which services they offer or who holds which qualification. A listing is not an inspection. The brand's city-page site, drbrc.in, also showed no Gorakhpur address card on 12 October 2026.[7] We therefore found nothing that supports calling any clinic "the" Dr BRC clinic of Gorakhpur, and we do not.

Which documents should you see before you pay?

Ask to see the practitioner's qualification certificate, a written fee list and a receipt before you pay. If unsure, ask the issuing institution to confirm the certificate.

  • The practitioner's full name, as on their qualification certificates.
  • The certificates themselves, with issuing institution and year.
  • The exact name under which they are listed in the brand directory, if they say they are listed.
  • A written fee list and a receipt.
  • A receipt address that matches the place you visited.
  • Any registration the premises must hold. Ask; do not assume.

Eight questions to ask any clinic, including ours

Put these questions to every clinic before you book and note the answers. A clear reply is a good sign, not proof. A refusal to answer is a reason to wait.

  1. Who exactly will see me, and can I see their certificates?
  2. Which directory entry is yours?
  3. Will you coordinate with my own doctor?
  4. Will you ever ask me to reduce or stop a medicine? Only my treating doctor should.
  5. What is the full fee in writing, what does it cover, and what is the refund rule?
  6. Do you sell any product or supplement?
  7. Where will sessions be held, who else is there, and what if I feel unwell?
  8. Which tests should I have first, and who reads them?

We welcome all eight: ask us these questions or see more questions answered. The Lucknow page adds how to judge claims, reviews and results.

Our Varanasi guide and the Kanpur guide run this check on those cities' own rows.

Behind the name

Who is Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, and what is the DIP diet in brief?

Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, known as Dr BRC, created the DIP diet, according to his own website. That site calls him an engineer by education, lists an honorary PhD and names no medical degree.[18]

Is Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury a medical doctor?

No, not on the published record. His site lists "a post-graduation in Diabetes" and a "PhD (Hon.) in Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Diseases", and names no MBBS, BAMS or MD.[18] "Hon." means honorary: a title, not a licence to practise medicine.

The site names no institution for either qualification.[18] At any clinic, ask for the practitioner's name and qualification certificates before you pay; an MBBS holder can be searched in the Indian Medical Register.

What does the DIP diet ask you to do, in short?

DIP diet kya hai? It is a set of eating rules Dr. Chowdhury publishes: fruit alone in the morning, two plates at lunch and dinner, an early dinner and no animal foods. His site expands DIP as "Disciplined & Intelligent Person's Diet".[19]

  • Fruit only until noon, at least 10 g of fruit for every kg of body weight (the site's stated minimum).[19] The brand's own risk section says excess fruit may spike blood sugar in insulin-resistant people, so if you have diabetes, ask your doctor before trying it.[20]
  • Raw vegetables first at lunch and dinner, then home-cooked vegetarian food with negligible oil and salt.[19]
  • Try to finish dinner by 7 pm.[19]
  • No animal foods (milk products included), packed food or multivitamin tonics.[19]

We report these rules; we do not endorse them. The no-milk rule affects many households. In Uttar Pradesh (NFHS-5, 2019-21; a state figure, not Gorakhpur), 42.5% of women and 47.3% of men aged 15-49 had milk or curd daily.[16] The 2024 dietary guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research's National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR-NIN) advise foods of animal origin such as milk, eggs and meat, particularly for pregnant and lactating women, children and adolescents.[21]

We support medical care, never replace it (see what naturopathy means and our approach). The full rules table is on our Lucknow page; evidence and safety follow below.

Evidence in brief

Diet, type 2 diabetes remission and the DIP diet: what the evidence says and does not say

No. We did not find any peer-reviewed clinical trial of the DIP diet, so treat any claim of trial-backed results with caution before you act on it.

What does remission mean, and what did the DiRECT trial show?

Remission of type 2 diabetes means HbA1c (average blood sugar over about three months) stays below 6.5% at least 3 months after all glucose-lowering drugs are stopped. An international expert group convened by the American Diabetes Association proposed this definition and advised against the word "cure".[22] Remission can end if weight returns, so yearly blood tests and checks of the eyes, kidneys and feet continue.[22]

The best-known remission trial is DiRECT (UK, Lancet 2018). It enrolled 306 adults aged 20-65 who had type 2 diabetes for up to 6 years and were not on insulin. Clinicians withdrew their diabetes drugs and gave a formula diet of 825-853 kcal a day for 3-5 months, then supported food reintroduction. At 12 months, 46% (68 of 149) were in remission, against 4% (6 of 149) given usual care.[23] That was a supervised formula-diet programme, not a plant-based one, and it is not a description of what we deliver. Vegetarian-type diets were studied differently. Nine pooled trials (664 people) of vegetarian diets, some of them vegan, found they lowered HbA1c by about 0.3 percentage points on average, a modest change in a blood test, not a measure of remission, and none of them tested the DIP rules themselves.[24]

What do the DIP diet's own cited studies amount to?

  • A trial-registry record for Agnikarma (an Ayurvedic heat therapy) plus the DIP diet in lumbar spondylosis, a low back condition, at the All India Institute of Ayurveda. It excludes people with diabetes and is listed "Not Yet Recruiting".[25]
  • A 2023 letter from Nepal's National Ayurveda Research and Training Centre about a type 2 diabetes trial of the DIP diet plus a herbal decoction. It gives no sample size or HbA1c values.[26]
  • A 2023 letter on a private Malaysian clinic's letterhead about an observational kidney study of a diet "similar to the DIP Diet" plus blood cupping, with no comparison group.[27]

The brand's own DIP page says there are "no large-scale clinical trials but many anecdotal cases".[20] When we searched PubMed and Europe PMC on 12 October 2026, we found no DIP-diet trial in either.

National guidance advises plenty of vegetables and slow, steady weight reduction.[21] That is not the same as saying the DIP rules, which exclude all animal foods and set fruit-only mornings, have been shown to work or to be safe for everyone. Remission needs HbA1c below 6.5% for at least 3 months off glucose-lowering medicine, so no plan can reach it in a few days.[22] Medicines are changed only by your treating doctor, never because of a diet.

The Lucknow page covers how remission is defined and tested and sets out the clinical trials study by study. For the cautions that matter on a plant-forward plan, read the Gorakhpur safety section, or see naturopathy safety and evidence.

Safety

Is the DIP diet safe? Cautions for Gorakhpur readers on medicines, anaemia, kidney disease, pregnancy and children

Which medicines make a diet change risky?

Check with your doctor first
SituationWhy it needs your doctor
Insulin, or a sulfonylurea (glimepiride, glipizide, gliclazide)Blood sugar can fall too low if you eat less or change meals, and it can rise if a very different breakfast, such as only fruit, does not match your dose. Religious or cultural fasting is a listed risk factor.[12] If you keep vrats (religious fasts), ask before the fast, not after. Tell your doctor before you change meal times or what you eat, and keep checking your sugar if you already do.
An SGLT2 inhibitor (dapagliflozin, empagliflozin)Prolonged fasting, a very-low-carbohydrate (ketogenic) diet or eating much less are listed risk factors for ketoacidosis, a dangerous build-up of blood acids.[13][12] The US empagliflozin label says blood sugar may be below 250 mg/dL even during ketoacidosis. We have not checked Indian labelling.[13]
Type 1 diabetesInsulin is lifelong. The Endocrine Society of India says diet can reduce the insulin needed but is no cure, and stopping insulin can be life-threatening.[14] If your diabetes began young, came on quickly with weight loss, or you are unsure of your type, see an endocrinologist or diabetologist before you change anything.
Blood-pressure and other long-term medicinesDoses may need review if diet, weight or salt intake change. Tell your doctor first. A fruit-heavy plan can raise blood potassium in people taking ACE inhibitors, ARBs or some water tablets, and sudden large changes in leafy green vegetables can change how well warfarin (a blood thinner) works.

Anaemia, kidney disease, pregnancy, children and older adults

Anaemia (low haemoglobin) is common in Gorakhpur district. NFHS-5 survey estimates for Gorakhpur district (sheet labelled 2020-21): 52.9% of women aged 15-49 and 67.4% of children aged 6-59 months were anaemic.[2] The brand's own DIP page lists B12, iron, zinc, calcium and protein shortfalls as risks, and says pregnant, older and anaemic people should avoid it for extended periods.[20] A plan with no animal foods and no supplements supplies almost no vitamin B12, so ask your doctor about a B12 blood test and a reliable B12 source.[20] ICMR-NIN advises including foods of animal origin such as milk, eggs and meat, particularly for pregnant and lactating women, children and adolescents.[21]

Do not start a plan that cuts out animal foods, limits calories or relies on fruit-only meals without your doctor's agreement if you are anaemic, underweight (BMI below 18.5; 18.0% of Gorakhpur women aged 15-49 in NFHS-5), pregnant, breastfeeding, planning pregnancy, under 18, over 65 and frail, or have had an eating disorder.[2] Kidney disease, including diabetic kidney disease, needs a plan from your kidney doctor or a renal dietitian (a dietitian trained in kidney diets), because fruit and many vegetables are rich in potassium, which can build up in advanced kidney disease. Ask before any fruit-heavy or raw-vegetable-heavy plan.

The longer safety discussion covers DIP diet side effects such as B12 deficiency. Read the medical disclaimer, and share your medicine list when you contact us.

Lifestyle support, not treatment

What do national guidelines say about walking, weight, salt and sugar for readers in Gorakhpur?

Lifestyle support means habits you keep beside your doctor's plan, never instead of tests or medicines. We make no promise that any habit will change a figure in the district NFHS-5 table.

Waist, weight and walking

The waist-to-hip ratio is your waist measurement divided by your hip measurement. In NFHS-5 (2019-21), 63.9% of Gorakhpur women aged 15-49 had a high-risk ratio (0.85 or more), against 56.8% in Uttar Pradesh and 56.7% in India.[2],[3],[15] That is a survey estimate, not a diagnosis. It is a reason to ask a doctor or nurse to measure your waist and blood pressure. ICMR-NIN's 2024 dietary guidelines say:

  • "Slow and steady reduction in body weight is advisable"; extreme approaches "may lead to health hazards".[21]
  • "A minimum 30-45 minutes brisk walk / physical activity of moderate intensity among adults helps in maintaining good health."[21]
  • "Regular yoga and physical activity are essential."[21]

Fog, heat and rain change when a brisk walk is comfortable here; the seasons section covers that. If you have a heart condition or take insulin or a sulfonylurea, ask your doctor before starting a new exercise routine, and carry fast-acting sugar when you walk.

Salt, sugar and tobacco

For adults, ICMR-NIN advises added salt of at most 5 g a day (using iodised salt), sugar below 5% of daily energy, at least 400 g of vegetables a day.[21] NFHS-5 found 98.4% of Gorakhpur households using iodised salt, against 92.3% in Uttar Pradesh. So the question is how much salt, not which kind: ICMR-NIN's limit is 5 g of added salt a day.[2],[3],[21]

In NFHS-5, about 45% of Gorakhpur men aged 15 and over used some kind of tobacco, against 44% in Uttar Pradesh and 38% in India. Only 135 men were interviewed in the district, so treat the gap with the state as too small to read.[2],[3],[15] If you use tobacco, tell your doctor, who can support quitting. We do not claim a quitting service.

Our Lucknow centre also offers diet counselling and yoga classes. Both are Lucknow services, not Gorakhpur ones, and we make no claim that either changes a blood sugar, blood pressure or weight reading. For food ideas rooted in the district, see eating in Gorakhpur.

Local food, sourced

What can you eat in Gorakhpur on a plant-forward day? Local crops, festival foods and ICMR-NIN guidance

A plant-forward day in Gorakhpur can be built from the crops the district portal lists as its main crops and checked against ICMR-NIN's 2024 dietary guidelines.[21],[28]

What does Gorakhpur grow, and how often does Uttar Pradesh eat vegetables, pulses and fruit?

The district portal lists paddy, wheat, pulses and sugarcane as main crops (page updated 26 October 2020).[28] Across Uttar Pradesh, NFHS-5 (2019-21) found that 57.4% of women aged 15-49 ate green leafy vegetables daily and 53.5% ate pulses (dal, chana, beans), but only 7.4% ate fruit daily.[16]

A 2012 ICAR-CRIDA contingency plan (data mostly 2004-08) shows the district has historically grown wheat and rice on the largest areas, about 188 and 153 thousand hectares. In the plan's mostly 2004-08 data, pigeonpea (arhar) covered about 6 thousand hectares and pea about 2.5 thousand; mango, banana and potato are among the fruit and vegetables it lists.[29] That is old crop-area data, not what households eat. The district's NFHS-5 fact sheet has no diet indicators, so the bars below are state-wide.

Eaten daily by women aged 15-49, Uttar Pradesh, NFHS-5 (2019-21)
  • Leafy vegetables57.4%
  • Pulses or beans53.5%
  • Milk or curd42.5%
  • Fruit7.4%
  • Fried foods3.5%

A sample day consistent with ICMR-NIN guidance

Plant-forward means vegetables, pulses and whole grains fill most of the plate; it is not plant-only. The ICMR-NIN guidelines advise at least 400 g of vegetables a day.[21]

One plant-forward day
TimeWhat a plate can look likeICMR-NIN point
MorningA brisk walk when the air allowsAdults: at least 30-45 minutes of brisk walking or moderate activity
BreakfastMillet or whole-grain roti with sprouts or dalCombine whole grains, pulses and millets
LunchMixed vegetables with green leafy vegetables, dal, whole-grain roti, a modest portion of riceAt least 400 g of vegetables a day, fresh and locally available
EveningOne whole fruit, not juiceMinimise ultra-processed foods; NIN names juices among them
DinnerThe same pattern on a smaller plate, cooked with little oilOils in moderation; added salt at most 5 g a day
Source: ICMR-NIN, 2024.[21] These are examples, not a prescription, and no fruit quantities are given.

NIN's separate My Plate for the Day sheet says its meal plan "is not for any specific medical condition", so this is not a diabetes plan. For a second example built on Lucknow dishes, see the Lucknow sample day. On days when the air is poor, see walking and yoga in Gorakhpur.

Festival foods and fasts: Khichdi Mela, til, gur and vrat

The district portal describes khichdi (spelt "khichari" there) and laddoos of black and white til and gur at Makar Sankranti, usually 14 January and sometimes 13 January.[30] It lists the Khichdi Mela, held on 14 January, first among the district's main fairs.[28] On Harchhath (spelt "Harchatha"), the portal says mothers fast, eating "only the rare variety of rice and green leaves without salt or sugar, milk and curd permitted".[30]

This page gives no nutrient values or health verdicts for local dishes, because we did not find verified figures for them. NIN's sugar limit, less than 5% of total energy a day for adults, covers the whole day, so a festival sweet counts within it.[21] Fasts need more care with some medicines: insulin and sulfonylureas (sugar-lowering tablets) can cause low blood sugar, SGLT2 inhibitors can bring on ketoacidosis when you eat much less,[13] and the American Diabetes Association lists fasting for religious or cultural reasons among the risk factors for low blood sugar.[12] It says people on insulin or sulfonylureas who fast need a treatment plan worked out with their clinician, so ask your treating doctor before a fast and do not change a dose on your own.[12] If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have kidney disease, ask your doctor before any fast.

Seasons and air

Walking and yoga in Gorakhpur: winter fog, summer heat, monsoon rain and air quality

Gorakhpur weather decides when a morning walk or yoga session is comfortable: IMD's 1991-2020 normals show about 12 fog days in January, a May mean daily maximum of 38.0 °C and 353.5 mm of rain in July.[31] Plan by season, and check the day's air before you go out; CPCB publishes a daily national AQI bulletin.[32]

What do IMD's 1991-2020 normals say about Gorakhpur's months?

What do official records say about the air?

Published sources do not agree on how clean the air is. The Uttar Pradesh Government's report to the National Green Tribunal (1 May 2024) counted 8 days with an air quality index (AQI, CPCB's 0-500 score) above 200 among 145 observed days from 1 November 2023 to 31 March 2024.[33] AIIMS Gorakhpur authors call the city's annual AQI "poor" for 2021-2023.[34]

The same report gives average PM10 (particles under 10 microns) of 150 µg/m3 in financial year 2017-18 and 102 µg/m3 in 2022-23, a 32% fall.[33] The AIIMS paper, using Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board monitor data, puts Gorakhpur's AQI peak at 249.31 in 2019, and its discussion notes that PM10 in many regions of North India escalates at the onset of winter.[34] CPCB's 30 March 2026 bulletin lists Gorakhpur among cities without enough data that day.[32] Because monitors and periods differ and no source gives a typical AQI by month, we do not call the city clean or polluted.

A season-by-season plan for walking and yoga

  • December and January: mean minimum 8.8-10.3 °C and 10.7-12.3 fog days a month.[31] On foggy or Poor-air days, it is reasonable to take your morning walk later, once it is brighter, or do yoga indoors.
  • April to June: mean daily maximum 36.3-38.0 °C, and single days run hotter. Walk soon after sunrise or after sunset and carry water. If you take water tablets (diuretics) or an SGLT2 inhibitor (a diabetes tablet), ask your doctor how to handle dehydration. The US empagliflozin label lists volume depletion among the triggers for ketoacidosis (acid build-up in the blood).[13]
  • July and August: 330.8-353.5 mm of rain a month; paths can be slippery, so indoor yoga is reasonable.[31]
  • October and November: mean daily maximum 32.3 and 29.4 °C, in between the extremes.[31]

Build up slowly, and ask your treating doctor first if you have heart disease or take insulin or a sulfonylurea. If you take either of those diabetes medicines, carry fast-acting sugar on walks, because exercise can lower blood sugar. Stop and get care for chest pain, breathlessness or dizziness; see the Gorakhpur red-flag list. Guided yoga is a service of our Lucknow centre, and you can contact us with questions about it.

Planning a visit

Getting to Gorakhpur for a visit: station, bus stand, airport, expressways and the road from Lucknow

If you are asking how far Gorakhpur is from Lucknow, the district portal says 265 km, with Gorakhpur to the east of the capital (page last updated 17 July 2019).[35]

Rail, bus and air: what do official pages say?

  • Rail: Gorakhpur is the zonal headquarters of the North Eastern Railway, according to the district portal.[35] We have not checked train timings, so use IRCTC or NTES.
  • Bus: According to the 2019 page, the main bus stand is near the railway station. Buses run from 3.00 am until late night on the Sanauli route, with frequent services to Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Delhi, and Gorakhpur is the main terminus for Kushinagar, Kapilvastu and Nepal.[35]
  • Air: The Airports Authority of India page for Gorakhpur Airport says it is 7 km from Gorakhpur railway station and links a flight schedule.[36] The 2019 district page describes it as the Air Force Station, 8 km from the station, and names Lucknow and Varanasi as the nearest other commercial airports.[35]

The 265 km road from Lucknow and the Gorakhpur Link Expressway

The airport page gives 273 km for the same direction, against the district portal's 265 km.[35][36] The figure changes with the route you take, so treat both as rough and check a live map on the day of travel.

The Gorakhpur Link Expressway is 91.35 km long. UPEIDA says it runs from near Jaitpur village at the Gorakhpur bye-pass to the Purvanchal Expressway near Salarpur in Azamgarh district, and records its inauguration as completed on 20 June 2025.[37] It joins the Purvanchal Expressway, so it is a link, not a full route from Lucknow; we give no combined length.

Our Lucknow centre is a long road trip from Gorakhpur, so call +91 88742 06748 before planning that journey. Its address is 123, Wellness Lane, Virat Khand 2, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226010. Our Lucknow centre and what happens at a first visit are described on the Lucknow page. For Gorakhpur, call before you travel or message +91 88742 06748; timings: Call or WhatsApp to confirm current timings.

Dr BRC clinic Gorakhpur fees: what the brand publishes, what we confirm by phone and how to compare

This page prints no fee for Gorakhpur, and no "starting at" figure either. Fees are confirmed when you call, and should be given to you in writing before you pay.

What are the fees in Gorakhpur?

Call +91 88742 06748 or WhatsApp +91 88742 06748 and ask "fees kitni hai?", then ask for the amount in writing before you pay anything. Do not assume it matches the fees at our Lucknow centre, which apply to Lucknow only.

Prices the Dr. BRC organisation publishes (read 12 October 2026)

Brand prices read 12 Oct 2026; they may change
ItemPublished priceSource page
Virtual OPD (online consultation)Rs 25,000 with taxes, non-refundable[38]biswaroop.com/vopd
Premium Virtual OPDRs 70,000 with taxes[38]biswaroop.com/vopd
Clinic@Home patient registration feeRs 6,500, one-time and non-refundable[39]drbrc.in/terms
These are the brand's own published prices, shown for reference only. They are not our fees and not a quote for Gorakhpur. Its terms add that therapies taken at a physical clinic may be charged separately.[39]

Before you pay any clinic, ask two things: is a brand fee, such as that registration fee, payable on top, and if so, to whom? Ask us the same two questions, and we will answer in writing before you pay.

How to compare costs, including public hospitals

  • Ask for an itemised written fee that lists what each charge includes.
  • Ask how many visits it covers and what a repeat visit costs.
  • Ask for the refund rule in writing before you pay.
  • Ask whether you must buy any product or supplement.

Public hospitals are a useful reference point. BRD Nehru Hospital's own page says treatment is free for BPL card holders and that it is registered under Ayushman Bharat.[8] We do not say what any scheme covers, so check with the hospital or your insurer. For the Lucknow centre only, see insurance and claims and the Lucknow centre price list.

Dr BRC clinic Gorakhpur reviews: how to judge claims and results, and the public record in brief

This page carries no reviews. It explains why, which phrases to question on any clinic page, and what the public record says. For more, see how to judge claims, reviews and results on the Lucknow page.

Why this page shows no testimonials, ratings or before-and-after results

We show no testimonials, star ratings, before-and-after results or patient counts. We cannot verify a stranger's result, outcomes differ from person to person, and advertising rules expect health claims to be substantiated.[40]

The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 bars advertisements that suggest a drug can treat conditions in its Schedule, which includes diabetes, obesity, high or low blood pressure and heart diseases.[41] Whether a diet programme is a "drug" under the Act is a legal question we do not resolve, so we apply the stricter reading. Not legal advice; see our medical disclaimer.

For any Gorakhpur clinic listing, check that it names a practitioner whose certificate you can ask to see. A phone number with no name is unverified, and ratings copied between listing sites can conflict.

Phrases that should make you pause

Each phrase is a reason to ask for a document before you pay, whichever clinic uses it. Whatever a page says, only your treating doctor decides changes to your medicines.

  • "No medicines" or "medicine-free"
  • "Permanent results"
  • "Reverse" or "cure"
  • Assured or "sure-shot" results
  • "Ministry validated" with no document you can open
  • A stated number of patients treated
  • Results promised in days

Before you decide

Next steps: what to do before you book in Gorakhpur

If you are considering a Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur, take these steps first.

  1. See your own doctor for tests (for example HbA1c, kidney function and haemoglobin) before you change how you eat, and keep taking your medicines as prescribed. Change nothing in them unless that doctor says so.
  2. Ask for the practitioner's name and qualification certificates before you pay, at any clinic, including ours.
  3. Call or WhatsApp us to confirm the Gorakhpur address, timings and fee, and to ask whether a visit makes sense for you. Keep your latest reports to hand.

Ask before you travel

We cannot promise any result, and we may suggest you see your doctor first.

Short, direct answers to the questions people ask most about Dr BRC in Gorakhpur, the DIP diet, safety, fees and how to book.

Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur: address, phone and who is who

Is there a Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur?
There is no single "the" Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur that we can point you to. The brand's own directory listed five Gorakhpur entries on 12 October 2026, with names only and no street addresses.[1] The brand's city-page website showed no Gorakhpur address card the same day.[7] Lucknow Naturopathy delivers Dr. BRC protocol-based diet and lifestyle programmes in Gorakhpur, and we confirm the address by phone. We do not call ourselves official, authorised or the only one. Our checking guide shows how to verify any clinic.
Dr BRC clinic Gorakhpur ka address kya hai?
Gorakhpur address: shared when you call or WhatsApp us. You can also call +91 88742 06748 or message +91 88742 06748 and we will confirm it before you travel. We do not print an address we have not confirmed. The brand's directory lists its Gorakhpur practitioners by name only, with no street addresses,[1] and its city-page website showed no Gorakhpur address card when we read it on 12 October 2026.[7] Do not travel on an address you cannot match to a named practitioner.
What is the phone number of Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur?
Call +91 88742 06748 or message +91 88742 06748. These are Lucknow Naturopathy's numbers, and you can also write to dr@naturopathlucknow.in. We do not print any other number. The brand's directory lists no phone numbers for its Gorakhpur entries,[1] so a number on another website may belong to a brand helpline or to an unrelated clinic. When you call, ask who you are speaking to and for the practitioner's name. Afterwards, ask for the Gorakhpur address and the fee in writing before you pay anything.
What are the timings of Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur, and is it open on Sunday?
Timings are confirmed when you call. For now: Call or WhatsApp to confirm current timings. We do not print Gorakhpur hours or a Sunday policy because we do not publish what we have not confirmed. Public hospitals publish their own hours. AIIMS Gorakhpur, for example, lists OPD (outpatient) timings of Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, on a page that says its data was collected on 11 July 2025, so confirm with the hospital before you travel.[9] For an urgent problem, do not wait for any clinic to open. Call 112, or the ambulance numbers 108 and 102 listed on the Gorakhpur district portal.[4]
Is Dr BRC clinic in Gorakhpur genuine, and how can I check it?
Whether a clinic is genuine is something you check, not something a web page can promise. You check this yourself: ask for the practitioner's full name, qualification certificates (issuing body and year), the name they are listed under in the brand directory,[1] a written fee list, and a receipt whose address matches the place you visited. The checking guide has the full list. We invite the same checks of us, through the contact page.
Is Dr BRC the same as BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur?
No. "BRC" are the initials of Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury. BRD Medical College is Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Gorakhpur, and its Nehru Hospital is described by the college as a tertiary care centre.[8] We have no connection with it. When we searched for "Dr BRC Gorakhpur" on 12 October 2026, the results were mostly BRD Medical College news, so readers can easily mix the two up. We did not find a "Dr BRC hospital Gorakhpur" on the brand pages we read on 12 October 2026.[7]
Who will I see at the Gorakhpur programme, and can I check their qualifications?
We do not name a practitioner on this page, so ask for the name and the qualification certificates when you call, and before you pay. Practitioners at Lucknow Naturopathy are naturopathy and yoga practitioners, not MBBS or MD physicians. Ask which certificate, from which institution, in which year. If they say they are listed in the brand directory, ask for the exact name and compare it with the public list.[1] The certificate details of our Lucknow team are shown on the team cards on this page, so you can see what we mean by a checkable qualification.
Does Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury see patients in Gorakhpur?
We do not advertise consultations with Dr. Chowdhury in Gorakhpur, so do not assume you will see him. He created the DIP diet and publishes its rules.[19] Lucknow Naturopathy delivers programmes that follow that published protocol. Whichever clinic you choose, ask who the treating practitioner is and what that person's qualification certificate says. We say nothing about any other clinic.

Hospitals, emergencies and getting to Gorakhpur

Which hospital should I go to in Gorakhpur in a medical emergency?
Call 112 (all-India), or the ambulance numbers 108 and 102 that the Gorakhpur district portal lists [4], and go to the nearest emergency department. A June 2024 UP112 presentation from Uttar Pradesh Police has a slide titled "UP 112 Integration with 108 Ambulance Service" [5]. Public options on official pages include BRD Medical College's Nehru Hospital, which states 24 X 7 emergency and trauma services [8], and AIIMS Gorakhpur, which lists in-patient care open round the clock [9]. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose District Hospital at Shastri Chowk is on the district portal's hospital list [11]. This is not a ranking. We are not an emergency service, so please do not message us first. See hospitals, emergency numbers and red flags.
What are the AIIMS Gorakhpur OPD timings, and can I go there for a blood sugar check?
AIIMS Gorakhpur's OPD (outpatient department) page lists Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 10:00 am, with in-patient care open round the clock [9]. The page says its data were collected on 11 July 2025, so hours may have changed since. It lists 14 OPD departments, including Medicine, and the list we read shows no endocrinology (hormone and diabetes) OPD [9]. The hospital also has a tele-consultation page [9]. Whether it will do a blood sugar test for you, and in which department, is for the hospital to say, so please phone to confirm before you travel.
Does BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur have an endocrinology OPD?
BRD Medical College's Department of Medicine page lists an Endocrinology OPD among its superspeciality OPDs, with a weekday and a named doctor that we have not reproduced here [10]. That page is undated, so please confirm the day and timing with the hospital by phone before you go. This is the hospital's own page, not a recommendation.
How far is Gorakhpur from Lucknow, and can I visit the Lucknow centre instead?
The Gorakhpur district portal says Gorakhpur is 265 km east of Lucknow (page last updated 17 July 2019), and lists frequent bus services to Lucknow among other routes [35]. The 91.35 km Gorakhpur Link Expressway, whose inauguration was completed on 20 June 2025, joins the Purvanchal Expressway [37]. We promise no travel time, so check a live map or timetable. Our Lucknow centre is at 123, Wellness Lane, Virat Khand 2, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226010. It is an option if you are happy with a long journey, but please call +91 88742 06748 first. More detail is in getting to Gorakhpur and the Lucknow centre.
Can I start with a phone call if I live far from Gorakhpur?
Yes. A call to +91 88742 06748 or a message on +91 88742 06748 is the right first step. Have your list of medicines and your recent reports to hand, and we will say whether a visit makes sense or whether you should see your own doctor first. Gorakhpur address: shared when you call or WhatsApp us. Please do not set out until you have confirmed it, and contact us if anything is unclear.

Gorakhpur health data, food, air and seasons

Does the NFHS-5 survey show that Gorakhpur has a diabetes problem?
It shows that more women in Gorakhpur had a high random blood sugar reading than in Uttar Pradesh (UP) overall, but it is not a diabetes rate. In NFHS-5 (2019-21), 13.8% of women aged 15 and over had a reading above 140 mg/dL or took medicine for blood sugar, against 10.0% in UP and 13.5% in India. [2],[3],[15] For men it was about 12%, level with UP and below India's 16%, but only 135 men were interviewed. [2],[3],[15] Each result is one random finger-prick reading, not a fasting test. The ICMR-INDIAB authors note that NFHS relies on random capillary glucose, so the two surveys are not like for like. [17] A diagnosis needs tests ordered by your doctor.
Is a high waist-to-hip ratio common among women in Gorakhpur district?
More common than in Uttar Pradesh as a whole, on this survey. NFHS-5 (2019-21) recorded a high-risk waist-to-hip ratio (waist divided by hip measurement, 0.85 or more) in 63.9% of women aged 15-49 in Gorakhpur, against 56.8% in UP and 56.7% in India. [2],[3],[15] Overweight or obesity (a BMI of 25 or more) was 21.1%, about the UP level of 21.3% and below India's 24.0%. [2],[3],[15] These are survey estimates for groups of women, not a diagnosis for you. Ask a doctor or nurse to measure your waist and blood pressure.
Is anaemia common in Gorakhpur, and is a plant-only diet safe if I am anaemic?
Anaemia is common, and a plant-only diet is not a safe default if you are anaemic. NFHS-5 (2019-21) found low haemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein in blood) in 52.9% of women aged 15-49 and 67.4% of children aged 6-59 months in Gorakhpur district, close to the UP figures of 50.4% and 66.4%. [2],[3] Talk to your doctor first, get tested and do not self-treat. ICMR-NIN advises animal-origin foods such as milk, eggs and meat, particularly for pregnant and breastfeeding women, children and adolescents. [21] The brand's own DIP page lists iron and B12 shortfalls as risks and names anaemic people among those who should avoid the diet long term. [20] See the DIP diet cautions.
What can I eat in Gorakhpur if I want to eat more plant-forward?
Build meals around pulses, whole grains and plenty of fresh local vegetables. That is the pattern in ICMR-NIN's 2024 guidelines, which ask for at least 400 g of vegetables a day, added salt of 5 g at most and sugar under 5% of daily energy. [21] The district portal lists paddy, wheat, pulses and sugarcane as main crops (page updated 2020). [28] Across Uttar Pradesh, only 7.4% of women aged 15-49 ate fruit daily, while 57.4% ate dark green leafy vegetables daily (NFHS-5, UP-wide, not a Gorakhpur figure). [16] We give no verdict on any local dish. Ask your doctor or a dietitian to fit a plan to your medicines; our Lucknow centre offers diet guidance.
Is it safe to walk or do yoga outdoors in Gorakhpur in winter?
Take extra care in December and January, and choose an indoor session on days when the air quality index (AQI) is Poor. IMD's 1991-2020 normals give a mean daily minimum of 10.3°C in December and 8.8°C in January, with on average 10.7 and 12.3 fog days in those months. [31] Published sources on the air disagree: AIIMS Gorakhpur authors call the city's annual AQI "poor" for 2021-2023, [34] while the UP Government's report to the National Green Tribunal counted 8 of 145 observed days (1 Nov 2023 to 31 Mar 2024) above AQI 200. [33] We therefore give no typical AQI and call the air neither clean nor polluted. CPCB says AQI 201-300 ("Poor") means breathing discomfort for most people on prolonged exposure. [32] Check the day's AQI; ask your doctor first if you have heart or lung disease.
How hot and wet does Gorakhpur get, and how should I plan walks?
May has the highest mean daily maximum, 38.0°C, and rain peaks in July (about 354 mm) and August (about 331 mm), according to IMD's 1991-2020 normals. [31] These are long-term averages, not forecasts. From April to June, walk soon after sunrise or after sunset and carry water. In the rains, choose indoor yoga when paths are wet and slippery. If you take an SGLT2 inhibitor (a class of diabetes tablets) or a water tablet, ask your doctor how to handle hot days; the red-flag list says which symptoms need urgent care.

Fees and insurance

Dr BRC clinic Gorakhpur fees kitni hai?
This page does not print a Gorakhpur fee, because we have not confirmed a figure to publish. Ask for any Gorakhpur fee in writing, through +91 88742 06748 or +91 88742 06748, before you pay. The brand's own published prices (read 12 October 2026; they may change) are in the fees section. Ask for an itemised fee, what it includes, the number of visits, the refund rule, and whether any separate brand fee applies. Our Lucknow price list covers only our Lucknow centre; the Dr BRC clinic Lucknow fees section compares the two.
Is the programme covered by insurance or Ayushman Bharat?
We do not claim that any insurer or government scheme covers our programmes, so ask your insurer or scheme office, in writing, whether naturopathy or yoga-based services are payable at all before you pay. BRD Medical College's Nehru Hospital states that it is registered under Ayushman Bharat and that treatment there is free for BPL card holders[8]. That describes that hospital only and says nothing about us. Our insurance information page explains how claim paperwork is handled at our Lucknow centre; it is not a statement about Gorakhpur. Whether a claim is paid is the insurer's decision, and a written estimate from us does not mean it will be.

The DIP diet, evidence and safety

What is the DIP diet (dip diet kya hai)?
The DIP diet is a plant-only (no milk, curd, eggs, meat or fish), low-oil, low-salt eating plan created by Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury. His website expands DIP as "Disciplined & Intelligent Person's Diet".[19] In the rules he publishes, you eat only fruit (3 to 4 types) until noon, in an amount linked to your body weight. If you have diabetes, ask your doctor first, because a fruit-heavy morning meal can affect blood sugar. Lunch and dinner come as two plates: raw vegetables first, then home-cooked vegetarian food with negligible salt and oil. Animal food, including milk products, and refined and packed food are to be avoided.[19] This is a summary of his published rules as read on 12 October 2026. We describe the plan and do not endorse it. The fuller rules, explained step by step are on our Lucknow page.
Is the DIP diet scientifically proven?
No. In our PubMed search of 12 October 2026 we did not find a peer-reviewed trial of the DIP diet. The brand's own DIP page describes its evidence as "no large-scale clinical trials but many anecdotal cases".[20] The studies his site points to include three items. One is a trial-registry record for an Agnikarma-plus-DIP study in lower back pain, which excludes people with diabetes.[25] One is a letter from Nepal about a type 2 diabetes trial of the DIP diet plus a herbal decoction.[26] One is a letter from a private clinic in Malaysia about an observational study of kidney patients on a plant-based diet "similar to" DIP plus cupping therapy.[27] The evidence section gives the detail.
Can I stop or reduce insulin or diabetes tablets on the DIP diet?
No, not on your own. Only the doctor who prescribes your medicines should change them, and we never advise anyone to stop or change a medicine. On insulin or a sulfonylurea (a class of diabetes tablets, such as glimepiride or gliclazide), eating less or fasting can push blood sugar too low.[12] On an SGLT2 inhibitor (such as empagliflozin), the US label lists reduced calorie intake among the conditions that can precipitate ketoacidosis, a dangerous build-up of blood acids. Blood sugar at presentation may be below 250 mg/dL.[13] In type 1 diabetes, insulin is lifelong and missed doses can be life-threatening.[14] Tell your doctor before you change how you eat or start a fast. In an emergency, call 112 or the ambulance numbers 108 and 102 listed on the Gorakhpur district portal.[4],[5]
Is the DIP diet safe for type 1 diabetes, kidney disease, pregnancy or children?
Not without your doctor's advice, and in type 1 diabetes insulin is always needed, so no diet replaces it.[14] Kidney disease needs a plan from your kidney doctor or a renal dietitian (a specialist in kidney diets). For pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood and adolescence, ICMR-NIN's 2024 guidelines advise including foods of animal origin such as milk, eggs and meat in the diet, particularly for pregnant and breastfeeding women, children and adolescents.[21] The published DIP rules leave out all animal foods,[19] and the brand's own page lists iron, vitamin B12 and protein shortfalls among its risks.[20] See the safety section and the Lucknow safety review.

Reviews and trust

Are there Dr BRC clinic Gorakhpur reviews, and why does this page show none?
Reviews may exist on listing sites, but this page shows no reviews, star ratings or testimonials, because we cannot verify a stranger's result and advertising rules expect health claims to be substantiated. The Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, 1954 also restricts advertisements that suggest a drug can treat listed conditions, among them diabetes and high or low blood pressure.[41] Before you trust any listing, check that it names a practitioner whose certificate you can see. A phone number with no name is unverified, and ratings copied between listing sites can conflict. Our section on claims and the public record lists phrases that should make you pause.
Is Dr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury a medical doctor?
No. His own website calls him "an engineer by education" and lists a "PhD (Hon.)" in diabetes and chronic kidney diseases, so the only doctorate it lists is honorary; it names no medical degree.[18] Whoever advises you, in Gorakhpur or anywhere else, ask for the practitioner's name, qualification certificates (issuing body and year) and any registration before you pay. At our Lucknow centre the practitioners are naturopathy and yoga practitioners, not MBBS or MD doctors. The dated public record is on our Lucknow page.
