Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women. Conventional medicine treats it with contraceptives to force a "withdrawal bleed", but this doesn't fix the underlying hormonal chaos.

At Lucknow Naturopathy Center, we treat PCOS as a whole-body issue involving Insulin Resistance, Adrenal Stress, and Liver Health. Our goal is to make your body ovulate naturally.

Symptoms & Signs

PCOS affects every woman differently, but common signs include:

Menstrual Irregularities

  • Periods coming every 45-60 days or more.
  • Scanty blood flow or heavy clotting.
  • Complete absence of periods (Amenorrhea).

Physical Changes

  • Weight gain (especially around the belly).
  • Acne and oily skin.
  • Unwanted facial hair (chin/upper lip).
  • Darkening of skin on neck (Acanthosis Nigricans).

The Root Causes

Insulin Resistance

High insulin levels stimulate the ovaries to produce Testosterone instead of Estrogen. This stops the egg from maturing, leading to cysts.

Chronic Inflammation

Poor diet and toxins cause low-grade inflammation, which disrupts hormonal communication.

Stress & Adrenal Fatigue

Stress hormones compete with progesterone. High stress leads to "Adrenal PCOS" where the adrenal glands produce excess male hormones.

Our PCOS Reversal Protocol

We use a 4-step approach to restore hormonal balance:

1. Fertility Yoga

Boosting circulation to the reproductive organs.

  • Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana): Opens up the pelvic region.
  • Chakki Chalanasana: Tones the uterus and reproductive organs.
  • Surya Namaskar: Crucial for weight loss in PCOS.

2. Seed Cycling

Natural Hormone Replacement.

  • Day 1-14 (Follicular Phase): 1 tbsp Flax seeds + 1 tbsp Pumpkin seeds daily. (Boosts Estrogen).
  • Day 15-28 (Luteal Phase): 1 tbsp Sesame seeds + 1 tbsp Sunflower seeds daily. (Boosts Progesterone).

3. Detox Therapies

Cleaning the system.

  • Mud Pack on Abdomen: Reduces ovarian inflammation.
  • Hip Bath: Improves blood flow to the ovaries and uterus.

4. PCOS Diet

Low GI, Anti-inflammatory.

  • Avoid: Dairy (contains hormones), Sugar, White Rice.
  • Eat: Cinnamon (improves insulin sensitivity), Spearmint Tea (lowers testosterone), Leafy Greens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can PCOD be cured permanently?

PCOD is a metabolic disorder. While genetic tendencies remain, the symptoms (irregular periods, cysts, weight gain) can be completely reversed by managing insulin resistance and stress. Many of our patients conceive naturally after reversal.

What is Seed Cycling?

It is a natural way to balance estrogen and progesterone. We use Flax/Pumpkin seeds in the first half of the cycle (to boost Estrogen) and Sesame/Sunflower seeds in the second half (to boost Progesterone).

Do I have to lose weight to cure PCOS?

Losing even 5-10% of body weight significantly restores ovulation. Our program focuses on weight loss as a primary treatment strategy for obese PCOS patients.

Can Yoga help with facial hair (hirsutism)?

Facial hair is caused by high androgens (male hormones). Yoga reduces stress and insulin resistance, which in turn lowers androgen production, gradually reducing hirsutism.
